How about mosques?
How tragic would an outbreak be in Mecca?
>>WHO says bird flu has killed 154 people out of 258 infected globally since late 2003.<<
OMG!!! We're all gonna die!!!
(eventually)
It is only a matter of time before a bird flu or some other pandemic breaks out. It will happen.
This may seem silly now, but it could be prophetic.
Actually, it works well....especially when you miss Church because of being out of town, which it seems we are often....and, it's one more check I do NOT have to write.
Great liberties are being taken in characterizing history and the true etiology of the 1918 pandemic; I suggest starting here and then following links: http://virus.stanford.edu/uda/fluscimed.html
If there had been no 1918 pandemic flu that killed roughly (they really don't know for sure) 50-100 million people world wide, nor any previous pandemic flus that spread around the world and killed large numbers of people, I wouldn't give it a second thought.
But unfortunately pandemic flus have occurred before and killed millions, and will again. Just because one hasn't happened in our lifetime is no reason to assume one will not happen. If all the people who laugh about it read for a couple dozen hours, they might change their tunes.
Start your reading on my link with an open mind; in 1918, the flu virus served more to make immune systems weak and susceptible to secondary bacterial infections which more often led to pneumonia and finally, death from edema and respiratory failure.
The author's notion of feeling fine in the morning, sick by afternoon and dead by nightfall is a gross stretch.
I'll bet hard money that if this thing hits as big as the fear mongers are yapping about, most churches will be filled to overflowing, with waiting lines running down the street.
Let's see. Population is 6 billion? 70m is 1.16%.
I thought AIDS was prophetic, but no one talked about quarantine for the carriers.
This bird flu stuff has an ulterior motive that has just not come out yet.
Here Lies Rob Roy
He had a great horse
He had a swell dog
He had a fine wife
Ashes to ashes
Grass to grass
This is where
We planted his ass.
Then there was a picture of the guy on his horse with his dog engraved in the stone. Everytime I see your name I think about that little piece of fun in that old pioneer cemetary.
We've had at least two pandemics since 1918. Why didn't as many people die?
Better medical care, better sanitation. The reason flu starts in China is that people still live in close proximity to ducks and swine.
Bird flu is nothing new. The fact that it infects people may not be new, either. The higher death toll may be a result of the fact that people are now looking for it.
People might try to use it for ulterior motives, but the threat of a pandemic is real....we are way past due for one.
AIDS is deadly, but slow. If it killed people in a week, everyone infected would be in quarantine. It doesn't though. (I still think they should be quarantined.)
I agree with you A.Hun, but I can't believe this bird flu is it. We've heard sob stories and fright stories about it for several years, yet, compared to the amount of fear mongering, not many have died.
Sounds like a way for the affected countries to receive some sort of, I don't know FUNDING to "help" stamp this out before it..GASP! Arrives here in the USA
Nope. Someone has been promised money for something, some politico has found a way to get them the money thru this false threat. It just smells.
Bird flu = swine flu of the 1970's.
We were all gonna die!
To be fair, the dog wasn't that great.
I did like the horse though!
But lets just let this be our little secret...
Apparently you haven't read much about this topic.
seems a difficult proposition - in 1918, were churches closed?
Can't close public schools, lose too much federal funding. Trash the Churches and capitalist pigs, but save the teachers union!
