Excellent.

Does anyone know if the Raleigh News-Observer has weighed in on Nifong's debacle?

I'm looking forward to their opinion.

If these lacrosse louts broke any laws, they probably will get away with it

Isn't that sweet?? How about some epithets about the lying, felonious, crackhead whore?? ...Not on your life.

Sounds like the writer has a "guilty of something even if they are proved innocent" point of view. Since he's already figured out that Nifong blew this case, should he be calling the victims of this injustice "louts"?

Has he even considered what sort of payback that Duke, the city of Durham, and the State of North Carolina are in for in the form of civil suits and "violation of civil rights" charges? These kids will win so much money at the expense of Nifong's supporters that they'll go right from graduation to a gated community with a golf club.

Not to mention, the crack about "lacrosse louts" sounds like something that would come out of the brain of a wimpy little journalism major who probably has a hatred of jocks going back to grade school.

I think he should apologize. If not, I think the lacrosse players should play on his childhood fears and beat the crap out of him.

Nifong doesn’t owe an explanation to the readers of a national newspaper. He owes an explanation to the people who elected him. He owes it to the people of this state. But he owes them more: his resignation.

AMEN!

I don't understand why Nifong hasn't been out searching for the real rapists.

With at least five sources of male DNA in her she must have been raped. She claimed she was. No woman in her right mind would sleep with five guys on one day.

(The fifth guy must really be worrying about germs.)

If these lacrosse louts broke any laws, they probably will get away with it. No jury in its right mind would believe anything the accuser or Nifong said.

I can just hear the delicate foot stomping.

Sounds like the writer is mostly in a snit at Nifong because he didn't succeed in railroading those 'lacrosse louts' for rape.

What a mess-up.

Duke University should be roundly condemned for so quickly caving, and throwing their students under the bus.

DISGUSTING. All around.

Documents and statements reveal, according to The News & Observer, that “Nifong has repeatedly misrepresented his actions in filings and in face-to-face dealings with judges.”

Like with the thieving Sandy Berger and the corrupt Bush Justice Department, how much confidence can anybody have in a system where the judge just winks and nods and gives a pass to a politically connected criminal like Nifong? This crap happens every day.

Why do these cowardly judges who have been lied to by Nifong simply sit there with their thumbs up their rear-ends?
Who prosecutes the prosecutor?

Someone asked this the other day:

"According to Nifong’s office, the swearing in is scheduled for Jan. 2 at 8 A.M. in Courtroom #1 on the fifth floor of the Durham County Courthouse."

Unless Nifong goes to jail justice will not be done.
Obviously Nifong is not going to jail.
Therefore, justice will not be done.
A few more whitefaces sacrificied on the altar of political correctness.

I'm reminded of the 88 luminaries on the Duke faculty who signed a petition in support of Nifong.

I'm thankful to not be paying tuition to that Duke dump.
