On this thread - read post No. 7 for a great story of what Jerry Ford was made of - too much of a man to use it for himself.
He was truly a treasure as well as a hero. It is such a shame that he was overshadowed by the times, and vilified for his pardon of Nixon....which was a very intelligent thing for him to do, and very couragous, too! It helped to heal this country.
