"how far back any records might go" =====> there are SOME records from the 1830s & a LOT of "gaps" in the files over the last 150+ years. fires, floods,incompetence,etc caused the loss of MANY records from SEVERAL periods.

for example, i had a "H of a time" finding ANY records of the service of my late friend, Joseph O. Berry, who was a Ranger in the late 1940s-early 1950s. (his file was "misfiled" in the "Js".)

i'll let you know WHAT, if anything, i find out.

Yes, but unfortunately our President's strong character and conviction are considered bad by the left. All I read today upon the military death toll reaching 3,000 is how W is off on vacation while "we pay for his egocentic and ideological view of the world".

Fortunately, both men did/do what they believe to be right regardless of the dopes on the left and their amoral opinions.

And as a result, both men have made history and will be judged as great leaders.
