" While DIA was still digging out last Friday, Centennial had one of its busiest days, as more than 1,000 corporate jets swarmed the airfield to pluck executives stranded in the Mile High City by the blizzard... "

Cannon fired back that DIA has "plenty of equipment. We have more equipment than we have operators."

Well, I'm sure all that unused equipment looks great sitting in 7ft of snow!

DIA should demand government support of Global Warming to keep future snow away.

Wow... the stupidity of the Monday morning Quarter Backing.

DIA has only one road into and out of the airport ... Pena Blvd. If that road is closed, then it is no possible to do anything else. Taxiways, runways, anything else cant be cleared if the workers cant get to the airport.

It's not necessarily DIA's fault. When your air travel system routes through a choke point that can be shut down by bad weather, you have a problem with the air travel system, not necessarily the choke point.

Mother Nature can put a wallop on an area that man just can't keep up with. It's that simple.

Odd thing about this is that I haven't heard the "Blame Bush" card played. Oh wait, the elections have already passed.

Right. And when the first accident happened because of the bad weather, this article would be written about how DIA should have shut down.

I was in Syracuse two weeks ago, and they have a display in the terminal about the airport. They get an average of 114 inches of snow each year. It is number one in snowfall. They have never beem closed down for more than 60 minutes at a time, and never more than a total of 8 hours in a season. Pretty impressive figures.
