well, I wouldn't say "tossed". but 100% litmus test allegiance to them and them alone - doesn't get you a victory. and they keep moving the goal posts - its not just abortion and gay marriage anymore - but a range of other issues now, take a look at the Mary Cheney threads on FR.

An “evangelical consultant” has been hired by Hillary Clinton to help attract Christian conservatives in her likely 2008 presidential campaign.

Who? The Reverend Al? Reverend Jesse?

Much of the evangelical vote is pro homeschool, being one of the largest blocks of homeschoolers. Hillary will get nowhere with them as long as she panders to the teachers.

Boy you nailed it. If there's one thing the slimy Rat bastards know how to do, is play politics. If Republicans use evanglicals, the Dims and media would be howling. But it's OK if Democrats use them.

If Republicans were smart, they'd immediately denounce Hillary and point out her treacherous past. But nobody has ever accused Republicans of having brains.

The fact that Hillary has to hire an "Evangelical Consultant" to try and help her win votes among the faithful speaks volumes about how big of an atheist and a panderer she really is.

Hillary has been denounced quite a bit. Don't you remember Dan Burton? Where is he now?

Or Rick Lazio? And how when he got within 3 feet of Hillary he was depicted as some kind of rapist?

She is the Dems and MSM's holy Mother. Brains has nothing to do with it. If you denounce Hillary you are toast politically.

Hillary didn't go to jail because Susan McDougal was willing to go for her.

Clinton’s new hire is Burns Strider, an evangelical Christian who directs religious outreach for House Democrats and is the lead staffer for the Democrats’ Faith Working Group, headed by incoming Majority Whip James Clyburn of South Carolina.

IOW, he's NOT really a Christian.

That she needs to hire a religious consultant speaks volumes of her "faith". That Democrats need to strategize on, research and focus group religion tells us all we need to know about how important religious faith really is in their lives.

"Observers of Clinton’s expressions of faith say religion has always been important to her, that she attended prayer group meetings while first lady..."

Gosh, I don't remember that. I remember reports of her attending the seances where they channeled Mrs. Roosevelt, but not prayer group meetings.

the term "evangelical" is really being loosely applied by the left to any christian who is willing to say he is a christian i guess?

This sort of reminds me of when she was considering running for Senate, and she had to go on the state "listening tour," to learn how to be a New Yorker so she could think for us.

LOL. Maybe she could just design a really cool t-shirt/ribbon that proves she thinks about religion all the time. A massive bumper sticker campaign sure would help convince me too.

Senator Clinton went to exactly one (ONE!!!) funeral for 9/11 victims. That funeral was for FDNY Chaplain Father Michael Judge, who the media had posthumously outted. Father Judge never claimed to be gay, but the buttsex crowd renamed him Mychal (was there even a Saint Mychal? -priests always take a saint's name), and are now calling the first "gay saint."
