Bush is a lame duck, but he has the power of the Justice Department. It is well past time that he uses it to go after every MSM traitor with the full force of the Federal government in the courts.
They would not have had the original files. Copies of parts of them,yes, but not the originals.
However.. there is a matter of threats to funding that might need to be looked into. Someone at FBI could be probably "convinced" to lose the files, rather than their job.
There certainly is no delegated power in the US Constitution to prevent abortions. And the second amendment does not say "Every person shall have the right to possess every gun anytime they wish." Even in the gun-grabbers paradise of Illinois one can own guns.
Actually from its construction it is arguable that it is as much a right guaranteed the states rather as one guaranteeing an individual right. States were very worried about federal power and, since they created and officered the militias, did not want the feds to be able to remove the manpower for those militias (all able-bodied men) by disarming them. This amendment appears to essentially say "The federal government will have no power to disarm the militias." These were intended to be the only governmental armed forces since standing national armies were unacceptable to most of those living in 1787. States (being unconstrained by the Bill of Rights) passed laws against firearm ownership as they wished and some prevented Blacks from owning them until the 20th century.

Well since the originals seem to be missing, then it is possible that some congress critter could have them.
Nothing is impossible when it comes to these guys (and gals).
We could put military and CIA investigators to the task, I imagine they'd find something pretty quickly. But the Federal Bureau of Incineration should not be investigating itself.
I'm not sure they are charged with regulating interstate commerce, although they are delegated the power to do that, along with a list of other things. They are charged with Defending each state from invasion, and guaranteeing each a Republican form of government.
check the klinton machine....you'll find them there or under a bed in one of their houses....
The way I understand Article 1 Section 8-deals with regulating commerce-international and interstate.

True of general civil servants, including Senior Executive Service types. However Presidential appointees are another matter. Clinton did "fire", or get the resignations of all the US Attorneys when he came in. Only kept the ones he liked. Bush should have done much more pruning that he did.
Bill CLinton did not fire everybody. He fired all of the federal district attorneys (who were political appointees and NOT covered by civil service) and the White House travel people (who were covered by civil service which is why he had that trumped up embezzling charge made). Clinton had to keep a lot of people like JOHN BOLTON, who served all through his term in the State Department.
I guess someone is too stupid to scan and store documents there? Cripes, they crucify credit card transacting companies for losing less data.
And firing all US attorneys wouldn't have solved the problem of leakers in the State Department.
Sometimes you guys have to realize that we have to deal with the world as it is, not as how we wish it could be.
Did Mineta have any control over the leaks from State or CIA? I doubt it.
Gee, this is no surprise. Just what we would expect. Sounds like a whole lot of firing needs to be done. Bush needs to clean this swamp and start coming down hard on this. Does he want to? I wonder?
All Clinton appointees have been gone since late 2001. Exactly what else would you have had Presient Bush do?
Explain how he would "clean the swamp." Provide examples.

I'd prefer use of 'fdisk' (or mkfs for Linux users). Wipe the drive and start over.
