Priceless photo and post at PowerLine today:
On his visit to Iraq, Senator Kerry apparently got something like the silent treatment from the troops who are "stuck" there. WDAY's Scott Hennen quotes a message from a friend serving in Iraq:This is a true story....Check out this photo from our mess hall at the US Embassy yesterday morning. Sen. Kerry found himself all alone while he was over here. He cancelled his press conference because no one came, he worked out alone in the gym w/o any soldiers even going up to say hi or ask for an autograph (I was one of those who was in the gym at the same time), and he found himself eating breakfast with only a couple of folks who are obviously not troops.
What is amazing is Bill O'Reilly came to visit with us and the troops at the CSH the same day and the line for autographs extended through the palace and people waited for two hours to shake his hand. You decide who is more respected and loved by us servicemen and women!
They were too busy talking with each other to notice Kerry was there. They were telling stories of raping, cutting off ears, cutting off heads, taping wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turning up the power, cutting off limbs, blowing up bodies, randomly shooting civilians, razing villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shooting cattle and dogs for fun, poisoning food stocks, and the general ravaging the countryside in Iraq.
LOL
Cold shoulder ping.
Not even anything he has ever said better illustrates the depth of John Kerry's out-of-touchness than THIS: that he could go to Iraq and expect ANYTHING but the coldest of cold shoulders.
Egotists like Kerry never get the message.
"..........he should be treated at least like a human being."
No he shouldn't!!!!
He should be treated like the scum that he is.
Nope. He's a dolt living in a plastic dream world.
The troops should have lightened up to Kerry and just to show no hard feeling for his stupid 'joke' have him walk patrol with them in some of the baddest part of Iraq (Kerry without the unnecessary body armor that he voted against of course) to meet and greet some of the very 'friendly' civilians.
In the middle of the patrol have some of our guys light up some BIG firecrackers behind him and Kerry would shit himself ketchup in a hurry to get back to base!!
I'm very sure that Kerry would have much more respect for our troops afterwards!!!
Hey Skerry, we are still waiting for you to sign the DD Form 180!!!!!!!!! He Does not want to show us his general discharge. He may have talked Clinton into upgrading it but it started out as a general discharge.
Funny I thought the same thing. I really can't believe that the senior officers didn't eat crow and just sit there. However, the Commander in Chief is much different than a Senator. I think the office of President should be respected and made to look popular. A senator is on their own as far as I am concerned.
You could go sit with him...
When politics is involved, the gloves come off, but it is not election season and he should be treated at least like a human being.
He's lucky he didn't get the crap kicked out of him.
Kerry is a scumbag traitor and should have swung from a rope in the early 70's.
ping and PING
What a pity. Perhaps he could have earned the troops' respect, if only he had gone to Vietnam.
In the immortal words of Nelson Muntz:
"HA-HA; Kerry's a dork and no one likes him."
There are several threads for this, might as well start here.
