Please cut Mrs. Reagan some slack. She's a widow of an Alzheimer's patient, now almost 87 herself and these things have been used against her by "family" to further their own ideological bent and feed her lies on the stem cell issue.

probably similar to Michael J. Fox, grasping at a wishful cure, without knowing the extent of "embryonic" stem cell research vs. just stem cell research. I factor in Nancy's age also and agree with your thoughts.

The statement made by Mrs Reagan is of course correct. Stem cell research does now and will in the future lead to cures and treatments for a variety of diseases. Since there is nothing in her statement specific to embryonic stem cell research, it is inappropriate to criticize her for something she didn't even say.
