Gerald Ford should of pardoned everyone involved in Watergate. God rest his soul.

I read that Chevy Chase found him to be a fine man and a great individual

I also realize in retrospect that he was a man who was very comfortable in his own skin.

I think that helped him to be unfazed by the jokes, etc. He was an expert in American history also; very much so.

Gerald Ford knew where he kept his veto pen, and how to use it. Perhaps W could find it in himself, in his last two years, to emulate this.

President Ford had class, something that is rarely found in Washington today.

Bush is not the first Republican President to have a Bull's Eye painted on his back by the MSM. It was nauseating to turn on the news in those days and watch the constant pathetic and sickening belittlement of Ford because he was not a Democrat.

As in many other cases, Jimmy Carter could not have been elected without the press. He did not beat Ford by much, and that after a full court press by the MSM (and no internet). Frankly, if you take the media's blatent cheerleading into account, the fact that Carter barely won is an indication of what a loser he really was.

May God rest his soul.

...Under rather trying circumstances, he did his very best during his presidency in the mid 1970's in the shadow of a recently disgraced Richard M. Nixon.

...It's just too bad he didn't beat Jimmy Carter.

I don't think Ford himself was on the program; it was his press secretary, Ron Nessen.

That actually was a rather amusing show!

I heard he did fine and actually managed to down inflation by 6% in two years, and that he just gets bad press because he excused the president.

Very good.

Who remembers that Bob Dole was on the 1976 GOP ticket?

Ford really was a good man. One more of the finer old guard passes, may he be blessed in his next life.

Here's a very nice picture of President and Mrs. Ford, Post # 8.

Since you know how to post pictures, at your convenience, could you please post this to the daily dose, as an antidote to that non-complimentary picture CNN chose?

Thanks!
jm

Thank you so much for the ping. I read the letter and it's very touching.

I was quite dissapointed Ford lost that year -- I was just 18, and so, my first time voting, I learned how it felt to have "my" candidate lose.

And my sentiments haven't changed except I am even more disapproving of Jimmy Carter now than I was then, globalist traitor / wolf in sheep's clothing that he is.

May God rest President Gerald Ford's soul in peace, and may He strengthen and comfort Mrs. Ford and the family, and may He continue to watch over and bless the United States.

Blessings to you, FRiend,
jm
