Just Announced on Fox
RIP, President Ford and thank you for your service to our country.
That's a really nice pic. Thanks for posting it.
RIP Mr. President. Good and decent man.
Call to Prayer for the Family and Friends of the Late President Ford.
Awww...prayers for his family.
My grandma will be first in line in heaven to greet him. Jerry was her man.
So what? Even if Michael Moore (God forbid) was President and he died, there should be state funerals...
A decent man. Rest In Peace Sir, you served your nation well and honorably, Mr. President...Thank you...
Love that picture... haven't seen it before.
I live in his hometown, GR, MI. Many moons ago, in 7th grade govt class (Ford was running against Carter), we were asked to draw our own campaign posters.
Mine was a Ford Sedan running over a large peanut.
I got a D.
heh

Thank goodness for men like Gerald Ford who came through for this country in the clutch, when we needed him most. He literally stepped up to the challenge.
"The 1976 convention was a memorable one. The last one with suspense."
My first understandable introduction to politics! By 1976 I was old enough to follow what was going on and why.
And of course President Ford provided one of the better moments in The Simpsons:
Gerry: Hi! Pleased to meet you, I just moved in. My name is Gerry
Ford.
Homer: [gasps] Former President Gerald Ford? Put her there! I'm Homer
Simpson!
Gerry: Say, Homer, do you like football?
Homer: Do I ever!
Gerry: Do you like nachos?
Homer: Yes, Mr. Ford.
Gerry: Well, why don't you come over and watch the game, and we'll have
nachos? And then, some beer.
Homer: Ooh!
[they walk across the street]
Gerry, I think you and I are going to get along just --
[they both trip]
Both: D'oh!
Very honest and ethical man. Thrust into the presidency and didn't do to badly.
Wow! 93! Full life.
You are so right. It is slanted and full of opinions with few facts. Ford had had a life before he was President which they omitted. They would have been better served to just extract some verbage from Wikipedia.
Love that picture. Rest in Peace President Ford. My deepest sympathies to the Ford family.
The GOP was almost ready for RR in '76. He lost by fewer than 120 delegates out of more than 2000 at the convention.
How sweet!
He sure looks like a tough SOB in that photo.
