The centerpiece of the Blue Room is the offical White House Christmas Tree. Grown in central Pennsylvania, the 18-foor Concolor fir was donated by Bowersox family.
Situated on the center of the State Dining Room table, seven carolers sing the joy of the Christmas season. White House staff made the dolls and their clothing for this year's holiday celebration
Clusters of snow covered and icicle-laden trees in the East Room accentuate the room's grandeur. The pinecones and icicles are new ornaments this year.
Millie, the beloved English springer spaniel of President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush, and her female puppy, Spot, greet guests along the ground floor corridor of the White House. During Millie's first few months of living in the White House, she gave birth to Spot and five others. Spot grew up in Texas with George W. and Laura Bush and their twin daughters. President George H.W. Bush served from 1989 to 1993.
Nelson, the steed that George Washington rode during the Revolutionary War, nobly wears the status as first horse. President Washington was our first president and served from 1789 to 1797
Adorning the Entry Hall mantel are the pets of President George W. Bush and Laura Bush. The Bushes' cat, India "Willie" Bush, and Spot, their English Springer Spaniel, have been part of the Bush pet clan for more than a decade. Barney Bush, a Scottish terrier, was a birthday gift from the President to Mrs. Bush in 2000
decor is a wee bit classier than mine!!!
On the southeast mantel are three sheep brought to the White House by President Woodrow Wilson during World War I to keep the lawn of the White House neat and trim. President Wilson served from 1913 to 1921.
Entrances to both the East Room and the State Dining Room from the Cross Hall are surrounded by garlands full of large pine cones, red glass balls, red icicles and red pepper berries
