Probes of Bush policies in works Mass. lawmakers to launch hearings By Rick Klein, Globe Staff | December 23, 2006
WASHINGTON -- Massachusetts lawmakers are set to launch a blizzard of investigations in the new Congress, probing issues such as wartime contracting, post-Katrina housing assistance, and the Bush administration's relationship with Cuba and other countries in Latin America.
In what could be closely watched proceedings, two members of the Massachusetts delegation -- representatives William D. Delahunt of Quincy and Martin T. Meehan of Lowell -- are planning joint committee hearings to examine the administration's Iraq war policies, particularly the reasons for the military's lagging efforts to train Iraqi troops. Delahunt is in line to become chairman of the House International Relations Committee's subcommittee on oversight and investigations, and Meehan will take over the same subcommittee on the House Armed Services Committee.
Armed with the power to force sworn testimony for the first time after 12 years in the minority in Congress, members of the state's all-Democratic congressional delegation are positioned to play major roles in investigating policies and actions that cut across the federal government and the business community.
"We could be the Bush administration's worst nightmare come to pass, in terms of the questions we'll be able to ask from positions of power," said Representative Edward J. Markey of Malden, the dean of the Massachusetts delegation. "There are a lot of secrets that have been hidden from the American people in terms of the way business has been done for the past six years."

As Massachusetts closes in on the loss of a quarter of a million residents (i.e. taxpayers) since 2000 and the drop in federal tax inflows from $1.10 per dollar paid in the early 1990s to $0.70 per dollar paid in 2004, the loony left does not know when to stop. Their hatred of the Bush administration is so strong that it blinds them to the damage they do to their own home.
Massachusetts has more than its share of trustafarians, but I cannot accept that half of the population is not concerned about the local economy and will continue to insult the administration and hurt the interests of the citizens of Massachusetts (at least those that work for a living).
The esteemed Massachusetts congressional delegation will put their self-interest ahead of those they allegedly represent for the next two years. The sad part is that the left will be cheering them on as the state further deteriorates.

loss of a quarter of a million residents When the population drops that much, what happens to empty housing? is there an increase in mortgage defaults to go with a population decrease?

These traitors are the worst nightmare for the American people and a disgrace for those that elected them. They put their own power-hungry, egos before their country, her people, and her security. They are out for themselves to the exclusion of their country and their heritage. Traitor is an apt description of what these sleaze are each and every one of them. They are a scourge.

This is what Mass. Democrats call responsible non-partisanship. Unfortunately, there is no getting through to them. Remember Teddy Kennedy actually said the Iraq War was cooked up by Texas Oilmen. No need to prove it or to even have evidence of it being possibly true. The Liberals and Democrats in Massachusetts eat up this type of partisan slander, especially from their favorite incoherent drunk.

"We could be the Bush administration's worst nightmare come to pass"
Should read "We could be America's and Freedom's worst nightmare come to pass." That would be more accurate. The left is so blinded by their hatred for Bush that they do not care if they destroy the entire non-Islamic world in the process.
And those are the stakes we are playing with. Winner takes the world. And if we lose, we die (though I guarantee that the reverse will not happen if we win, which does say a lot about the opposing sides).
Leftist trolls: Wake up!! You will be the first to die if your Islamofacist friends take over. Join the fight against them or they will kill you. There is my message of unity for the holiday season.
Merry Christmas.

The DemocRATS are incorrectly interpreting their "landslide" during the last election and believe that the results gave them a mandate to conduct a jihad against Christians, conservatives and your average, normal Americans. Well, if I may quote the old British Sergeant Major in the movie, The Wild Geese, they are in for "a great big ******* surprise!" Americans are not going to stand for the DemocRATS' Commie bovine scatology.
