I just went and listened to that song on Youtube. Haven't heard it in years, but thought about it the second I saw the headline.

JB was an American original.
His influence on the American music scene has been huge.
RIP JB.

James Brown has died. Thanks so much for not saying passed away, or even worse passed. It is childish to use euphemisms for death.

I suspect there are people out there with fingers poised at the keyboards, just waiting to hit the SEND button whenever somebody dies. Most media organizations have obituaries ready for famous folks. It wouldn't surprse me if some of the more dedicated Wikipediacs took the time to do the same. The biggest exception in recent years was Princess Diana, who was only 37, so most folks hadn't bothered to write an obit yet.
Sometimes, this has the odd effect of an obituary being published after the death of both the subject and the author. Walter Sullivan, the NY Times science writer, had at least two obituaries he wrote published long after his own -- he died in 1996, and his obit for Edward Teller ran in 2003 and for James Van Allen in 2006.

Sorry, just can't respect Brown after what he did to her and several other women.Well, maybe they didn't listen - - ever think of that?
