He was a master of his craft, an inspiration to those in his field.

Agreed.
A Personal Fav of mine.
Outrageous Funky music.
Piss poor human protoplasm.
I AM sorry to see him go.
Did his abused wife shoot his miserable doping ass or did he cork off by natural causes.(If she shot him it WOULD be natural causes)

Sorry to hear this. He was one of those people who seemed immortal, who'd always be there.

On You Tube:
Here is the scene at Triple Rock Baptist Church with Rev Cleo James.
Here is a very early video of JB doing Prisoner of Love and Please Please Please

He had his good foot on! The man was an original and an entertainer. Rest in peace sir. You were good!

"In all that time did you ever invite me for a coffee, Buena Sera?"
One day I'll come to you and ask you for a favor".
Now THATS a Godfather!
But I really liked James Brown a LOT.~(

"He had his SHARE of self destructive moments" ?
That's an understatement. I interviewed Brown's wife for People magazine in 1988 after he had beaten her while high on PCP. She was black and blue all over.. I had never met a victim of domestic violence before, and this was a horrible case.
Sorry, just can't respect Brown after what he did to her and several other women.

RIP.
On the other hand, $10 says Clinton crashes the funeral.

I bet "Living In America" is responsible for millions in speeding fines. There are some songs that make your foot SO heavy.

James Brown is the coherent one in that photo, and not withstanding a long series of brushes with drugs, booze smacking his wife around the block; and the law, the one with the MUCH better stature as a human being.
It would have ben a better day today if Sharpton had bitten the dust and Brown stayed with us a little longer.

Sad news, to be sure, but look at the bright side:
Chuck Berry now has someone to sing lead for him...somewhere.

Wikipedia is creepy like that. When that crododile hunter Steve Irwin died, I went to Wikipedia to learn more about him because I never watched him on TV. This was about 2 minutes after seeing a thread pop up on Free Republic announcing his death. Wikipedia had already totally integrated his death into the article on him like it happened 10 years ago.
I suspect there are people out there with fingers poised at the keyboards, just waiting to hit the SEND button whenever somebody dies.
