I wonder when the Air Resources Board will prohibit people from using their fireplaces altogether?

Shortly after they raise the cost of natural gas and electricity to levels you can't afford. The implementation will precede the next prolonged cold snap.

I have 10 cords of wood out on the basketball court. Very nice on those sub-zero nights. It significantly reduces the time the gas-fired forced air heater needs to run. We have about 8 inches of snow on the ground right now. A nice, white Christmas. I don't miss the madhouse in San Diego at all.

Replace non-certified units upon property sale

The new purchase price for the wood burning stoves in my two Pocatello homes is about $2,000 EACH. They are probably not "certified", but that won't be an issue here.

The climate is getting warmer on Mars, too. I've also heard that it might be getting warmer on Earth's moon and on Pluto. Who's driving the SUVs around there? How and why is Bush destroying the environment on Mars? Will Pluto become the new secret CIA torture/prison camp for peaceful civilians? There must be some sort of conspiracy, because it's just inconceivable that there's a solar cycle that causes temperatures to go up every thousand years or so.

Oh yeah, you are right, us the 'little people' don't have a place there anymore, and if you are 'mature' just forget it! You should see the property taxes they wanted to collect from the overpriced property I sold to a 'more suitable resident' of younger years who was a paper-pusher in government.

So, I am in a more normal place now, but still you can't buy a new home with a normal fireplace; but they let you defend yourself (so far, has a 'make my day' law), unlike Kalifornia where only dirtbags and politicians (same) can legally defend themselves.

It is my firm and ardent hope that this legislation passes and is implemented fully. When the economic ruin that is inevitable rains down on this backward and communistic state, perhaps the rest of the 49 will come to its senses.

What are they going to do? Ban the industrial revolution? A lot of libs seems to think that if they can stop Republicans from driving cars and living in single family homes, everything will be just fine. What they don't understand is that when they get rid of SUVs the nature worshipers will be coming after Volvos, and they don't care if you have a Kerry-Edwards bumper sticker or not.

It's already happened. In a local county, they have implemented a no "wood burning fire place" .. only gas is allowed.. soon that won't be allowed..so are we gonna stop talking about all the freedoms we're loosing.. or are we going to march into office and fix them?

Actually you have a good point.
Eventually Kalifornia will have nothing but public-aid recipients (mostly the 'can but don't work type), paper-clip counters as workers, and let us hope ALL the slimy lawyers/politicians stay there!!!

California generates a disproportionate share of the greenhouse gas in this country, so it's only fair that they should take the lead in this. And it's about time they did so.

The legislation already passed in California. Arnold (along with help from Senators Boxer and Feinstein) now want to bring it to a town near you! They're working toward federal legislation now. Our demise will be your demise.

California was right out there with their smog regulations decades ago. That sure worked. They also got rid of their electric mass transit system. Very cool.

Well, they also generate the highest per-capita lawyer ratio to actual working people there, so, what do we do about that!
Naturally, the high rate of frivolous law suits follows, with the 9th Circuit leading moronic decisions, and on and on.
Yes, KA is screwed up beyond belief.

--“The beauty of carbon trading, is that it takes a primal human impulse — greed — and redirects it
toward saving the planet rather than destroying it.”
--Dan Dudek, chief economist at Environmental Defense,
as quoted in the NYT, July 30, 2006--

That quote says it all. The other "primal human impulse" in this case is the neosocialist weenies' hunger for power.

Will the Fart Police run around the San Joaquin Valley, plugging cows' rear ends to cap those deadly METHANE emissions?

Observing the output of this 'person' and the 'organization' hereby represented, one must ponder if any of these morons EVER held a job where productivity or creativity was required in order to keep collecting a paycheck, or if just counting pencils was "good 'nuf"

What is the source of that conclusion? Disproportionate to what? Population? State GDP? What is it measured against?

For all his flaws, Michael Savage is right in his book title: extreme liberalism IS indeed a mental disorder.

Is the ARB going to put plugs on the Cascade volcanoes too? And is WA State taking care of the massive amounts of greenhouse gas spewing from St. Helens?
