I know an Indian couple whose marriage was arranged. They've been married around 30 years or more and are very happy and love each other. I couldn't say whether that's just dumb luck, different culture, or what. But it's true that the success rate of American marriages based on "love" isn't very high.

I think alot of it has to do with religious belief levels of the people getting married. You have to believe its right to make it work.
I didnt mean to make it sound like its a common accurence though. Most of them in the community I was in married a local girl they had known for years, but there had come up a couple of times that one oddball who didnt find that girl.

Indian arranged marriages have a very high success rate.
Its like this: low expectations are easily met.
Contrast to the American princess that fantasizes all her life about her wedding and what a show it will be, but doesn't think about life after the party.
