David Irving: Jews should ask themselves why they are hated

Holocaust denier David Irving on Friday said Jews should ask themselves why they have been hated throughout history.

"They [Jews] should ask themselves the question, 'Why have they been so hated for 3000 years that there has been pogrom after pogrom in country after country?', said Irving, speaking at a press conference he convened in England on Friday, a day after he was released from an Austrian prison.

Irving, who was sentenced to three years in prison for denying the Holocaust, was released last week after his appeal was granted.

Asked if he sees himself as anti-Semitic, Irving said, "No, I like to think I am not."

But immediately following his answer, Irving expressed his support for Mel Gibson's comments that "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world."

Irving also took pride in the success of his books and claimed that he the fortune he made from sales of his biography on World War II German General Erwin Rommel enabled him to walk into a car showroom with a paper bag stuffed with cash to buy a "Nigger brown Rolls-Royce."

Irving's comments aroused great anger within Britain's Jewish community.

Lord Janner, president of the Holocaust Educational Trust, said Irving's release was "unwarranted" and that Irving's "latest comments were totally to be expected and should be totally ignored."

Japan is a special case. Japan's medieval background more resembles Europe in it's emphasis on individualism, at least among the ruling classes, and its particular take on the honor thing. Korea and Viet Nam benefit from strong Christian traditions. In Viet Nam the Buddhists have learned about extrafamilial dealmaking and trust from the Christians as has been the case in Korea. In Viet Nam the Buddhists started paying close attention, really as late as 1975-1990 and got it right and got it fast.
Yes there are Christian arabs but they have to function as dhimmi in arab society and it has muted them terribly except in Lebanon where the constant Islamic and Syrian disruption limits them. The Turks would undoubtedly have benefited by example had Turkey not chased out the bulk of its Greeks in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The arab Mohammedans are hopeless. China is hitting some ceilings in many areas of development because of Chinese inability to trust foreigners. Chinese corporations have taken on American officers in order to trade better but they don't last because the Americans soon understand that they are not trusted and not heeded and the Chinese cannot reach a point that they can trust the foreigner. Even the largest companies are either government/army entities or are family businesses. Most of their great economic leap is built on the sand of shoddy and utterly corrupt banking practices, which are based on that family model- you don't refuse family. In this case family refers to loans to other government businesses that are not financially sound. The house of cards is not eternal.

WHY DO PEOPLE HATE JEWS?

Looking at some of the replies here ... ignorance is ramped. Their real issue is hating God/Jesus and Jews and CHRISTians are convenient punching bags. Satan motivates allot of people ... as he always has.

Historically it was the Chinese who immigrated throughout the east and then out-performed the native populations. Pogroms are routine there whenever the political leaders need a boost.

Hitler was Austrian. Duh. Austria has living Nazis, lots of them. Members of its government in recent times have been past members of the Nazi party. Extreme nationalists have direct ideological and personal reasons to whitewash the subject. The same laws exist in Germany and they are needed there too.

Have an honest talk with people around 70 years old or older and ask them about the atitudes in the 30s 40s about Jews in this country. - Tom

I read that book many years ago. All I remember of it is that Wylie hated Jews, but he hated Christians even more.

But why expelled by so many countries? One poster on this thread said Jews have blessed every nation they lived in. Why would a nation expel those that were blessing the nation? Jealousy? Events were listed in the post, but no reasons. Surely, if an event were recorded, then the causes of the event would be recorded.

Jews are a conspicuously successful minority in almost every country where they are allowed freedom. Envy is the first recourse of the small minded. (Academia is a haven for the petty and small minded.)

Trouble is that's about 80% of them.
