Christians in the Middle East have paid a high price for the Iraq war, the publication of cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad and the Popes controversial remarks about Islam. Egyptian Copts, Iraqi Chaldeans and the Palestinian Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Protestant communities have faced violence and even death at the hands of their Muslim neighbours.
Canon Andrew White, president of the Foundation for Reconciliation in the Middle East, told The Times that the Iraq war had had a dire effect on the lives of Christians in the region, particularly in Iraq, where he is the vicar of St Georges Church in Baghdad.
All my staff at the church have been killed, he said. They disappeared about a year ago and we never saw them again. Of the rest of my congregation, most say they have been targeted in some way or have had letters delivered with bullets in them. People forget, or the Islamic groups dont realise, that Christianity was in the Middle East before them and therefore they see Christians as being part of the Western coalition military presence. Things have got considerably worse since the Iraq war.
Tensions have also increased elsewhere. In Syria one Christian Assyrian said that he was planning to emigrate to Canada because of growing Islamic fundamentalism in a society having to absorb huge numbers of Iraqi refugees. I do not feel at ease any longer and I do not want my two sons to live in this polarised society and atmosphere, he said.

Their only hope is to leave. It will not get better there.
My advise would be to leave. Don't wait to die like the Jews in Germany, Poland, and elsewhere in WWII.
This is bull. Radical Islamists would be killing Christians even if there were no war in Iraq.
How would you describe a "good Muslim"?
You are absolutely correct. Mohammedans kill non-mohammedans on a regular basis, and they don't need the excuse of the war in Iraq to get them going. They kill non-mohammedans all over the world, and the vast majority of their non-mohammedan victims are from countries that are not even involved in the war in Iraq. The simple fact is that islam is a bloodthirsty, militant, intolerant, hate-filled movement of oppression and horror, and always has been.
The Times blames their murder on Danish cartoonists? Oh, good one.
Heh. Unfortunately, with all of the destruction in the world at the hands of muslims, my answer would be "a dead one"
A DEAD ONE.
Absolutely sick. None of those things justify killing Christians at a peaceful church. Left wing scumbag newspaper - what does that Church have to do with either the Iraq war (in which we are fighting with and for Moslems) or Danish cartoonists? And the Pope was denouncing exactly this type of evil.
This is something the western news media is completely ignorant of, probably because they're in denial about it.

Have a view.
Best to leave before the real war starts.
Room Temperature!
Four sheikhs to the wind.
"Don't hate Muslims, hate the actions of good terrorist Muslims. Despise the cancer of Islam, don't hate the cancer patient."
Indeed. Hate the sin, not the sinner. Hate ISLAM.
