I live in Nashville, in a more or less inner city area, and what we get are New Yorkers who want to re-create their culture here. Trust me - they are not conservatives in my part of town. I do see your point and I actually grew up further North, but it's been 20 years here for me. The other thing I see is how these closed-minded lefties want to us us about race relations. If you were to look at the county-by-county "red/blue" map of Tennessee, it's mostly red except for the blue in Davidson and Shelby Counties (Memphis), so my attitude probably reflects that.
