The white 1998 Nissan Pathfinder with a license plate 4AVN056 was found yesterday outside an apartment complex in the 300 block of Elm Avenue in Long Beach. There is evidence within the vehicle. Videotape showed bullet holes to the windows.
Both officers are said to be "critical but stable." More on that in a minute. The suspect is still at large, and the same description is still being issued.
The suspect also shot at two other officers during his getaway, but they were not injured as they remained in their vehicle.
Now, from press sources, the rookie officer was shot several times in the throat. The veteran officer was shot in the head, and fragments of bone and glass were found in his brain. Other details of what these officers have gone through and are going through can be found in this link: Officers' condition unchanged; suspect's vehicle located
Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call (562) 435-6711.
I am angry about this, and I am sick of hearing of police being shot every week around here. And, I don't care who is reading this that doesn't like it, but my opinion is they're looking for a Hispanic guy. They threw in the Filipino thing because maybe he looks a little Asian or to make the description a little more PC.
There are over 300 Mexicans who have killed police officers in California and fled to Mexico, where that country refuses to extradite them. This (expletive) has got to stop.
I just hate thinking what these officers and their families are going through right now. I hope they get the perp and do a Rodney King on him... to the finish. Enough!!
Oh Dear Lord...I didn't know the extent of their injuries. Please God, let them be OK. And PLEASE find these people who shot them.
Dita...I know what you mean, I feel it too. You're NOT alone...
I hear you, Dita. Two murders in our town this year, both illegals... we have a population of 50,000.

LBPD Chief just finished a press conference. The shooting suspect has been identified but not caught yet.
His name is OSCAR MANUEL GALLEGOS, described as a "career criminal." But wait until you hear about his "career."
He has been deported [to Mexico?] several times before and repeatedly re-enters the U.S. illegally. His arrest record includes an arrest in the past for making "terrorist threats."
Chief Batts vows that Gallegos will be hunted down and will be found. Per Batts, "We will also pursue charges against anyone who is harboring the suspect." Gallegos is considered armed and dangerous.
He was being stopped by police for running a red light, when he fired on the police officers.

Long Beach Memorial Hospital has issued positive reports on the conditions of both officers. Thank God.
"They threw in the Filipino thing because maybe he looks a little Asian or to make the description a little more PC."
One doesn't have to go far from Long Beach, to be among many ethnicities; Samoan, Filipino, Hispanic, black, etc. Probably less worrisome are Indians, up around Cerritos.
