Downhill slide for Hillary?
The Washington Times ^ | December 21, 2006 | Donald Lambro

Posted on 12/21/2006 6:00:41 PM PST by neverdem

Some Democrats are beginning to doubt Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's electability in 2008 and are saying so publicly for the first time.

The New York liberal, who is far ahead of her rivals for the Democratic nomination in all the polls, is the most polarizing figure in American politics. Half the voters polled say they would support her if, as expected, she becomes a candidate, but the other half says they couldn't vote for her under any circumstances.

Her inability to reach out to more moderate voters worries Democrats who think '08 is their year to win back the White House if their party picks a candidate who can appeal to a broader electorate. Some think she has already "peaked too soon" and will gradually see her support erode. "Hillary Clinton is going to be a formidable opponent because she is able to raise more money. But does that make you a winner? Ask Howard Dean. He was raising more money than you can imagine but ended up doing poorly in '04," said former Iowa Democratic chairman Rob Tully.

"In the early states like Iowa and New Hampshire, Democrats really look at electability and quite frankly she is running against herself," said Mr. Tully, a veteran party operative who has just stepped down from the chairmanship. "She's got name recognition, popularity among Democrats, but the test will be whether she can beat the image problem, the perception out there that she is not electable among the general electorate," he told me.

Electability, he said, "is the big issue out here" among Iowa Democrats who will hold the nation's first candidate caucuses in January of '08. "Quite frankly, the Democrats, as we saw in Bill Clinton's nomination in '92, they do not want to let this chance...

If she starts to fall, she will only pull out on some pretext such as "family", "health", etc. She will never just plain quit since it will doom her forever. Of course, she may already be doomed forever. Hope so.

What liberal New Yorker with an "R" behind his name did that in a senate race against her?

Most of the far left/lib/"moderate" guys I work with in New Hampshire have said they will NOT vote for Hillary. They have stated that they will vote for McCain.

Okay... it is time for some on-line "docs" to start analyzing this babe...

We already know she had hips, thighs, and calves to match any interior lineman in the NFL...

What else can be said about her????

What kind of underwear does she wear?

Boxers or briefs?

I think I heard Ann Coulter today query why the girls from The View didn't ask her this question.

Still LOL

Half the voters polled say they would support her

Half of the 'rats maybe. Last poll I paid attention to had a lot less than half "definitely" voting for her, and a lot more "definitely" voting against her. This article makes it sound like it is a toss-up.

Those who refuse to learn from Bill Clinton on the Leno show with a sax, are destined to repeat it with Hillary on The View, which has made a daily appearance of late.

We are in for the biggest media biased blitz in this countrys history.

The easily led will succumb to the "mass conciousness" approval of a woman President, for every informed voter there is 2 who "go with the flow". The "flow" for Hillary will be a Tsunami like media approach, President Hillary Rodham Clinton is the liberals greatest wish/fantasy in the past 100 years, ending Vietnam is a distant second.

Only a major world event will stop the freight train (picture her cankles on a railroad track here) known as Hillary Rodham Clinton.

They believe that little Fox News Channel has given them the RIGHT and DUTY to be more biased than they have ever been, campaing 2008 will make the Pravda blush.

This article is a right wing fantasy. She's in. and will win.

Don't be so sure.

The last time a junior Senator from New York State ran for President, it didn't turn out so good for them.

Think 1968.

History has a funny way of repeating itself sometimes.

Dems won't risk another Kerry or Gore. Hillary has another loser written all over her. She just can't hide what a bitch she is and there is no way she will capture the southern voters.

Thats why they want Obama. They are grooming him to be the next Bill Clinton. Just smile smugly, look the part, and always tells the people what they want to hear. THey figure if they can sell Obama as Bill Clinton, minus the rapist and intern humper problems, and they have the whitehouse in 2008.
