Congressman Criticized for Muslim Letter
briebart.com ^ | 12/21/06 | FREDERIC J. FROMMER

A Republican congressman has told constituents that unless immigration is tightened, "many more Muslims" will be elected and follow the lead of a recently elected lawmaker who plans to use the Quran at his ceremonial swearing-in.

Rep. Virgil Goode, R-Va., made the comments in a letter sent earlier this month to hundreds of constituents who had written to him about Rep.-elect Keith Ellison, a Minnesota Democrat and the first Muslim elected to Congress. Goode's letter triggered angry responses from a New Jersey congressman and an Islamic civil rights group.

In the letter, Goode wrote, "The Muslim representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don't wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran."

Goode said the U.S. needs to stop illegal immigration "totally" and reduce legal immigration.

Goode added: "I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped."

Meanwhile, Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr., D-N.J., wrote to Goode on Wednesday saying that he was "greatly disappointed and in fact startled" by Goode's letter.

"I take your remarks as personally offensive to the large community of Muslim-Americans I represent in the Eighth District of New Jersey," Pascrell wrote.

Some Minnesotans want to live under sharia law, the rest will be subjected to it as a result.

I keep on hearing that we only fight the Muslim fundamentalists. Shouldn't those who want Sharia law to become the law of the land and the imams who challenged airline security be considered fundamentalists? Then why in hell are they still in this country?

Osama bin Laden was right when he suggested that America is nothing but a paper tiger. It is a shame that we have brave men and women led by paper tigers.

Divide and conquer. Pretty arrogant of us. Romans anyone? We are trying to build a secular class of Muslim, the "American" Muslim to build backing to resist dirty faced muslims or Eastern/Euro Muslims.

BTW it looks like we are using the same tactics to subdue Iraq. that would be the tactics practiced by invaders since time immemorial, divide and conquer. It's how the Spanish defeated 3 million indians. It's how the Americans defeated Philippino insurgency in 1899. It's the winning way, beat the hell out of the republicans in a country and turn them on the real power center. We are in the process of subduing Sunni Iraq to use them to help us subdue the rest. Meanwhile liberals contemplate their navels.

The Sunni Iraqis would represent the Republican Iraqis or people who have the strongest attachment to the traditional state. The Shiites are the target of our real derision. We don't do much business with Shiites. Would it be bad for the USA if Sunnis and Shiites refused to dialog, preferring bullets instead? Probably not.

I agree without reservation.

and the Bush Administration is doing absolutely nothing to reduce it.

Or any other immigration either. Illegal or legal.

I suspect the 40,000 Bosnians now living around St Louis cost
Talent the election and I heard Allen lost because of the muslim vote.

I didn't know it was that many.
The only reason I knew of the Bosnian prescence in MO was that I
noticed a Bosnian version of the MO Drivers License Booklet on
the Dept of Rev. site.

Gave me bad memories of the DMV in Californian with the Bravo Sierra
of having to produce a drivers license booklet in languages like
freakin' Laotian.

Talk about Balkanization!

They want to promote peace and understanding between the two cultures...........................

Wonderful! I already understand though, that women have virtually no rights and that their laws favor beheading. Understanding their culture should make a lot of us less judgemental about this, I'm sure.

P.S. Anyone know where they plan to stay after these great "learning" experiences?

Goode is one of the few people left in Virginia that represents conservatives. We've lost the governorship to a card carrying socialist (Kaine)! Our new Senator Jim "Larry Flynt" Webb and I believe Mark "the Horse" Warner will take John Warners seat in '08. (JW is such a horses a$$ rino it really doesn't matter)

Goode needs as much e-mail/phone call support as we can muster to keep him from what seems to be the norm with Pubbies...issuing an apology! Don't let him do it!!!

Mr. Pascrell is supporting the new "Constitutional Right To Never Be Offended" bill. :~)

Look, Pascrell is an elected Democrat from New jersey. Isn't that bad enough to make anyone feel offended?

How can you trust a muslim to prove anything? Their holy book commands them to lie to further their cause! I used to feel that "respectable, peaceful" muslims should be tolerated in this free country, but there is just no way to prove who they are. I used to think it odd that it was lawful to have a communist and nazi parties in America. As I got older, I understood how free our country was. I then thought it was odd that Germans can't even sing "Deutschland Uber Alles", just as a bad joke. Understanding Islam has now fully allowed me to understand why Germany has banned any expression of Nazism. It's about damn time the United Staes od America banned any and all expressions of Islam.

I think his comments were over the top, one of those "stupid Republican tricks". Having said that, I can't help but feel he may be right in some way. Doesn't matter, he is pretty much wrong here, in my opinion, but then thats life..

I think a far greater danger to American culture is immigration from Mexico and other Spanish speaking countries.

Ellison was hand picked by Rahm Emmanuel (Head of the DCC) and Ellison's district is about 90% Arab/Muzzie. (Source Brit Hume).

Brit had a report of this today. ONE GOP Congressman with some LARGE Cojones...GOOD FOR HIM!!

This is THE start of Muzzies taking over the USA, from within, WITH the cooperation and appeasment of the DemoSocialists.

Good point!

*** I used to think it odd that it was lawful to have a communist and nazi parties in America. As I got older, I understood how free our country was.***

I NEVER thought that we should have communists and nazis in this country. The communists have sworn to overthrow our government. The State University of New York about 40 years ago wanted all their professors to sign a statement that they were not commies. Some refused on the basis of free speech. The supreme court agreed with them. And the commies and now two more generations of students are teaching our children.

Well pascrell, I find you and the ragtop muzzies offensive and a threat to our security. They are no better than the pigs they disdain.
