BOSTON Gov.-elect Deval Patrick said Thursday he will rescind a new agreement between the state and federal authorities that allows State Police troopers to arrest illegal immigrants.
Speaking with reporters after a lunch meeting with state legislators, the incoming governor said he believes the troopers have enough to do already without having to also enforce immigration laws.
"If I have that power, I'm going to rescind that agreement," Patrick, a Democrat, told reporters.
He added: "I do believe I have that power."

This could actually turn out to be somewhat good news, at least for awhile. If certain "illegal-friendly" states emerge, and those states attract "all the people who do all the work that Americans don't want to do", then perhaps...

Perfect. While feeling some sympathy for the few conservatives in Massachusettes, watching the libs continually fouling all of New England is a good thing for the rest of the country. Allow elections to be controlled by public employee unions and European-type socialists and you end up like this.

Now that this person is going to be the governor, and the legislature is over populated by Democrats, citizens of the Commonwealth are in for a lot of pain in the years ahead.
I expect good and decent people in Massachusetts will continue to escape from the Bay State. There is no reason to stay any longer. It's all over.
I left in 1977 and never, ever regretted it.

"have enough to do already"
That is so condescending.
Enough? Like what, pulling people over on the Pike for not paying the tolls.
The troopers don't have enough to do imho.

he needs to be removed from office, he's using his authority as the state's top LEO to thwart the law!!
What would the outcry be if he said he'd make sure that Troopers would no longer support federal drug interdiction efforts because they are too busy to waste thier time arresting drug smugglers?
