Giuliani Continues to Lead Clinton, Gore (New Rasmussn Poll)
Rasmussen ^ | 12/21/06

Posted on 12/21/2006 11:58:01 AM PST by areafiftyone

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) continues to hold a narrow lead over Senator Hillary Clinton (D) and former Vice President Al Gore (D) in early Election 2008 polling.

Giuliani leads Clinton 47% to 43% in the latest poll. That’s very similar to the 48% to 43% lead he enjoyed in late November. When matched against Gore, Giuliani now leads 46% to 43%. In November, he also enjoyed a three-point lead over the Democrats’ Election 2000 candidate.

Against either Democrat, Giuliani leads among men but trails among women. The two Democrats lead among voters under 30, but trail among other age groups.

Gore is now viewed favorably by 50% of Americans and unfavorably by 49%. That’s a bit better than in earlier surveys. For Clinton, the numbers are now 48% favorable and 50% unfavorable, a bit weaker than the last time we checked.

Neither Democrat comes close to Giuliani on the favorability scale. The man sometimes known as “America’s Mayor” is viewed favorably by seven out of ten Americans (71%).

Giuliani also does well in Republican primary polling. In fact, he is the top candidate in the early going. John McCain is second. McCain also leads Clinton and Gore in Election 2008 match-ups. In fact, Giuliani and McCain are ahead in every match-up no matter what Democrat we mention.

On the Democratic side, Clinton is the clear frontrunner. Gore has not made it clear whether he intends to run.

Check out the favorability ratings for all Republican candidates, Democratic candidates, Congressional Leaders and other Political leaders.

he cut the hotel/motel occupancy tax as well as several other taxes which your quoting/posting did not discuss...NY is still the highest taxed city but it's much less than it was BR (Before Rudy)

True, but if he ends up the nominee then we should pick the one out of the two who is most conservative and chances are it will the be Republican candidate. Most here would not vote democrat even if a Ronald Reagan type ran. I never have because Democrats don't run that type of candidate, but there is a big chance that the Democrat could be more conservative than the Republican this go round. That would be on crazy interesting election.

Thank you, ever so much, for you juvenile musing! :-)

Hunter is a GOP Kusinich and Ted Nugent is NOT a politician or even a general, or anyone who will get a V.P. nod in '08. Why don't you just post that you want a Jesus Christ/Paris Hilton ticket; that makes as much sense. LOL

>>>>As to the rest of your specious personal attacks, they show the depths of your derangement; for which you really should seek help. Through the years, you, not I, have shown all of the things you have accused me of, only far worse.

Derangement? LMAO. That is hilarious stuff. You think that the mere suggestion of what certain words mean, is a fact of reality and good enough to post. That's because you don't think things through and act in a delusional fashion more consistent with a liberal thought process. Truth is, you're the first one to always lower the debate to the lowest common denominator. You are one of the biggest abusers on Free Republic, who engage in purely ad hominem responses and for good reason. That's your bag. You give the impression, you like being the queen whiner around this conservative forum. So be it!

Newt is not going to run in 2008. He wants Hillary to win (preferably), and will subtlety undermine the GOP candidate, whether it be Giuliani, or McCain or Romney, in the hope that he can launch himself with traction in 2012. Just my gut feeling. I could be wrong.

Frankly, if Ronald Reagan was around today, and thinking about running as a conservative Republican in 2008, I gurantee you the RudyRooters would be trashing him at every opportunity.

I will not vote for any liberal, Democrat or Republican.

You're right, but he won't win a GOP primary in '12; so IF that is his plan, he is being stupid.

Actually very funny. I am surprised that she didn't say something about how great a speaker he is instead of the inclusion part. That is probably more accurate than anything. Well he can speak so he could be President....many people actually believe that. I just hope we don't have a stone statue running against him like we typically do for some reason.
