Giuliani Continues to Lead Clinton, Gore (New Rasmussn Poll)
Rasmussen ^ | 12/21/06

Posted on 12/21/2006 11:58:01 AM PST by areafiftyone

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) continues to hold a narrow lead over Senator Hillary Clinton (D) and former Vice President Al Gore (D) in early Election 2008 polling.

Giuliani leads Clinton 47% to 43% in the latest poll. That’s very similar to the 48% to 43% lead he enjoyed in late November. When matched against Gore, Giuliani now leads 46% to 43%. In November, he also enjoyed a three-point lead over the Democrats’ Election 2000 candidate.

Against either Democrat, Giuliani leads among men but trails among women. The two Democrats lead among voters under 30, but trail among other age groups.

Gore is now viewed favorably by 50% of Americans and unfavorably by 49%. That’s a bit better than in earlier surveys. For Clinton, the numbers are now 48% favorable and 50% unfavorable, a bit weaker than the last time we checked.

Neither Democrat comes close to Giuliani on the favorability scale. The man sometimes known as “America’s Mayor” is viewed favorably by seven out of ten Americans (71%).

Giuliani also does well in Republican primary polling. In fact, he is the top candidate in the early going. John McCain is second. McCain also leads Clinton and Gore in Election 2008 match-ups. In fact, Giuliani and McCain are ahead in every match-up no matter what Democrat we mention.

On the Democratic side, Clinton is the clear frontrunner. Gore has not made it clear whether he intends to run.

Check out the favorability ratings for all Republican candidates, Democratic candidates, Congressional Leaders and other Political leaders.

>>>>>That projection complex of yours ...

Projection? You're stuck in some fantasy world, between cartoonville and comicbookland. You want people to take you seriously. Big problem. When it comes to promoting, supporting and defending conservatism, you're a fraud and a phoney. Period!

>>>>>Not only do I know a very great deal about Ronald Reagan...

From my experience with you through many years, you've shown know a deliberate effort to miscast the Reagan legacy at every opportunity. In reality, you know absolutely NOTHING about Ronald Reagan. This is an anonymous website, and its constructed that way for good reason. To protect honest posters like me and troubled posters like you.

>>>>>Pssssssssssssst...I actually knew Nancy ...

Pssssssssssssst, you're fulla crapola. LOL

>>>>You disgrace the man's memory .....

Not once in my 7+ years on FR have I disgraced the legacy or memory of Ronald Reagan. Would never do that. You can take that to the bank.

You need to take a long long vacation from FR. You need a long long long rest, with the right medication.

And just for the record, you look bad everytime you post.

I believe you're right. I can't see the Republican party nominating Rudy. They run the risk of losing too many conservative contributions, conservative workers and conservative voters.

It would also be a mistake to noominate Newt. Among other things, he is just not likeable enough, and likeability is a major factor in elections and one of the main reasons for Reagan's two overwhelming victories, in addition to his conservatism.

Sorry. I may not be as gracious as Reagan was, but then again, Reagan didn't have to face the cretins here at FR. Like Reagan, however, I am an eternal optimist when it comes to America's future. When it comes to you, I'm not impressed with your liberal/libertarian nonsense you post on a regular basis here on conservative Free Republic. Not at all.

No, I am not lying about knowing Nancy; I did. She went to the same private school in Chicago as my daughter did. Nancy came back often to help out with several charity events the school did, while President Reagan was in office. I was a VERY active member of these events, plus a few others at that school. And surprise, surprise, Nancy and I worked on them together, for a number of years. I also knew here from luncheons and other political work; however, it was on a much more personal level, when we worked together on the SILENT AUCTION, for the school's Spring dinner dance and auctions; amongst other visits she made.

As to the rest of your specious personal attacks, they show the depths of your derangement; for which you really should seek help. Through the years, you, not I, have shown all of the things you have accused me of, only far worse.

Notice how they chose to exclude Ted Nugent - what's up with that?

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that you think that! By the way, I don't really consider myself that much of a libertarian, except at the margin. I am more of a live and let live relaxed pluralist, who believes based on experience and history, that no man is an island. There is a difference. Cheers.

Thanks TAdams. Its not easy defending conservatism from the onslaught of the moderate-centrist-liberal Republican mindset here on Free Republic.

I think you're right about Newt, but he sure does have those same creative juices flowing through his thought process that helped Reagan out on so many occasions when he was battling the liberal Democrats.

Thanks again.

If Giuliani becomes the nominee, then i have to very very reluctantly vote for him.

Next to Clinton, Giuliani has to be one of the most personal character flawed candidates to run for office.

It would be far easier to find such pictures of prominent politicos, by looking through old college and boarding school yearbooks.

The Bohemian Grove allows NO public pictures, so that ends the search for anything there, though that organization DOES put on HAIRY LEG SHOWS.

Well after the 2006 election, don't you think we should pay attention to the polls more instead of writing them off like before. We as a group we pretty stupid not listening to the polls. We looks absolutely uninformed or arrogant saying that the polls were filled with dems, lies, etc, but they were right. What say you?
