I hope your faith in the integrity of the judge and officers involved in the trial is not misplaced. Command influence is very real but hard for those of us outside of the process to identify. I also hope that the Marine establishment understands that many Americans are watching closely. If they choose to cave to pressure and appease the enemy , they risk losing their most loyal support at home.

Screw the folks back home, if they cave to pressure and convict innocent men then they lose the support of the men and women in the ranks. And they know it, too. I have no doubt that they went that extra mile and make sure that the charges were justified for that very reason.
