A Muslim group is asking Virginia Republican Rep. Virgil Goode Jr. to apologize after he told hundreds of his constituents that more Muslims will follow Rep.-elect Keith Ellison, D-Minn., to Congress if strict immigration laws aren't passed.
"The Muslim representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district and if American citizens don't wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran," Goode wrote.
The letter was written to constituents who contacted Goode after Ellison said he planned to bring his Quran, the Muslim holy book.
Goode, an attorney and former state senator who was first elected to Congress in 1996, said he wants to "stop illegal immigration totally and reduce legal immigration and end the diversity visas policy pushed hard by President Clinton and allowing many persons from the Middle East to come to this country."
Corey Saylor, national legislative director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said Goode's "Islamophobic remarks send a message of intolerance that is unworthy of anyone elected to public office."
CAIR officials noted that Ellison traces his family roots in the United States back to 1742.
"There can be no reasonable defense for such bigotry," Saylor said, adding that Goode should apologize.
Linwood Duncan, Goode's press secretary, said Goode sent the letter to hundreds of constituents who contacted his office after Ellison disclosed his plans. About the same time, the head of the local Sierra Club contacted Goode about a different issue, and the letter was accidentally sent to him in response. The Sierra Club official gave a copy of the letter to a reporter.
"The congressman is not apologizing," Duncan said. "He stands by the letter."

Probably, back in 1980, that doctor didn't really have anything evil in mind. When Muslims have no power, they simmer down and, from the point of view of their host country, are just another odd foreign group engaging in its odd customs.
However, once they feel they have power - in this case from petrodollars and modern, low-cost weapons - they become violent, vicious and aggressive, as we are seeing before our very eyes. Suddenly, they want to take over. And we are caught completely by surprise.
I'd be extremely upset, too, because it would mean there was no point of contact. I have a Catholic friend whose son became a Buddhist a while ago - I'm not that upset about it, because she was really non-practicing and I think he's searching for what she didn't give him and will eventually work his way through Buddhism and come back, probably better for it. Even if he doesn't, however, he's not going to go out and start killing people or insisting that everybody else in the world become Buddhist or die.
Islam is entirely different. It's both a political and a religious system, and there is no point of contact between it and any other religion or civil system.
I think you're right - I believe his mother is a Catholic. In any case, it doesnt matter what she is: he's a Muslim, and the problem with Islam is that it regards itself as both a religious and a political system. In my opinion, it's incompatible with American democracy.

Those Muslims who are sincerely trying to make an accomodation with their religion and freedom are Unaware Apostates, good hearted people who have grown larger than their religion, but haven't the courage or honesty to admit it yet.

It is a parody. It's a syncretist system that took a bizarre understanding of Jewish ritual law, a strange take on various Christian figures, and a pinch of pagan practices and moon-worship, and blended them into a giant extortion program. Mad Mo's "Pay me money or die" program.

Islam is not just a religion. It is political and demands absolute allegiance. It calls for conquest of the world and one of its pillars is Jihad.
Ellison turned to the Nation of Islam as a form of Civilization war against the US. He hates the US and whites and found a call in this form of Islam.
What if this bigot said the same thing about Jews? He would be getting slammed by the global community, Isreal, President bush and all others.
1. Bush probably has condemned Goode. Bush is ignorant of Islam and the life of the brigand rapist Muhammed.
2. Jews don't want to rule the world. At most we just want current Israel, the disputed territories, as well parts of Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. We are to be a light unto nations, not a ruler of them.
What did Goode say that was so bad? Muslim Immigration was largely a consequence of the 1965 immigration act. Kennedy had promised that it would not change America. He lied.
With the rise in the number of Muslims it is only natural that they would be represented in Congress. Eventually Congressman Pascrall will retire and will probably be replaced by a follower of the religion of subjugation.
Racism, and Bigotry are apparently just fine with conservative American's as long it is directed to Muslims.
