If Rudy were the GOP nominee, most conservatives I know would start casting about for a 3rd party candidate. Myself included. That is how we got eight years of Bill Clinton, and it is a sure way to give us four to eight of Hillary.

This is most likely true and it is the most likely outcome of nominating Rudy. (IMO)

Exactly. Which is why, if Republicans are smart, they'll get behind a conservative candidate, not RINO roadkill.
