[ If I understand it correctly, by that standard every political decision, every vote, every law and piece of legislation is a question of morality. ]
Every?... Using Superlatives can be the biggest mistake..
They are used often by people who lie first to themselves.

The Theology of the Individual is as varied as there are Americans.. Everyone has a theology.. everyone.. Divorcing politics from theology is not possible.. its IMpossible..

Politics is the enforcing of "someones" morality..
As is Theology.. two sides to the same coin..
Democracy is the theology of the Mob politically...
A republic splits the Mobs up into theological regions..
Thats why a republic is a much better form of politics than a democracy..

The question still remains.
If I oppose fedearal laws against say, gambling or prostitution, on the grounds that such actions are not within the Constitutionally enumerated powers of the federal government, is that a moral decision based on theology, and if so how would you characterize that theology?

If you can't answer that question, I don't see any reason to take anything you say seriously.

If government and religion are two sides of the same coin, and government
is the problem, isn't religion equally problematic?
You're not good enough at semantic gymnastics to make your evasions my fault.

Absolutely.. Religion seeks to replace God as Government(a.k.a. giverment) seeks to replace individual responsiblity..

The powers of the Federal government vs. the powers of the State.. and the scope of each is the question..
The federal government should be the vassal of the States instead of the States being the vassal of the federal government(as they are now).. That is the question, true ;)..
The federal giverment is the enemy..

Then so are theologies that seek to turn it to their will, against the States.

"From my point of view as the mayor of New York City, the question that I have to ask is, 'Who has the best chance in the next four years of successfully fighting for our interest? Who understands them, and who will make the best case for it?' Our future, our destiny is not a matter of chance. It's a matter of choice. My choice is Mario Cuomo." -- Rudy Giuliani: Emperor of the City, Andrew Kirtzman, Page 133
