He could express his support of fair and equal treatment of all Americans under the law without making any pronouncements about the character and quality of the individuals involved.
As a Christian he clearly knows what the Bible says on these matters. His statements on the Defense of Marriage reveal this. But he must not give the gay agenda any credibility by suggesting that there is anything normal or hopeful about a homosexual "family".
I hate bigotry of every sort--but it is not Christian love to become an enabler for any destructive lifestyle.
