Yes, I know that some were for the continued "containment" of Saddam and Sons.
But the Administration and other countries refused after 9/11 to depend entirely of the predictability of a madman with billions for WMD and WMD capabilities, in an nuke arms race with Iran, funding of Islamic cults, failure to live up to surrender agreements, ect.
It was prudent to defeat Saddam and Sons, imo.
In time, the bombs may fall in SA, and Pak, it depends on how strong the enemy proves to be, how much support they have, can their moderates defeat them, and can our public take it.
And can a suicidal enemy be defeated ultimately? And can Western leaders, or any leaders fight without worry his population will be blow up at their malls everyday? Can a leader risk that kind of blackmail?
Many, many questions for our public to ask themselves and future Presidents and Congresses.

I think he knows that 65% are against this war.
Part of that 65% are NOT against the war. They are against HOW the war is being fought. Many would like to see it fought to win without a lot of this PC crap.

I dumped my TV during my last move. (It was a 36" CRT 100lb monster, so it was easy to 'let it go!' LOL!)
I rigged up a little 19" tv to watch the ABC 9/11 show off air, and that has been it. Been going to local college football games, or listening on XM. I listen to old radio programs like The Saint and Boston Blackie (not as corny as you'd think.) Nero Wolfe, "Breeng me a beee-ah, Ahchie!"
Watch movies (that I choose, usually 40's and 50's hollywood) on DVD or on the plane.
I haven't seen Katie Couric in her new job. I don't know what David Gregory looks like. I didn't see the melee in Miami kicking someone in the chest. I didn't see the NBA fight. I only see Amembersonlydinnerjacket's face in FR cartoons and internet. I don't see all the leftist laced garbage on the ER/doctor/social-worker shows.
It sounds lame, I know. It sounds hermit-y. It's really quite nice considering the programming like the View available today, which is designed to pull you in an melt your frontal cortex!

..our point of disagreement
is whether or not a homosexual couple can be normal parents.
I know people who are in "alternative lifestyles"--it is neither loving nor truthful to suggest that there is anything good that can come out of this...

"I don't know what David Gregory looks like."
When you see a guy in the press gallery whose insolent face makes you want to sock him - THAT'S Gregory. :-)

Yes. Many people want to see more force and more terrorists killed instead of coddled. That 65% stat is BS

I see no connection between Mary Cheney and Iraq.Nor does a weak, tired voice have anything to do with a presidents decisions.
What kind of a Christmas holiday will Bush enjoy with a dozen secret service agents, the Red phone and the Football?
You think it ends at Crawford?

Mary is from a close-knit conservative family, and the child will be surrounded by them as well. It's sad that Mary's only "crime" is being gay, but that's enough for you to think you can dictate that she should not be a parent. From everything I've seen, she is otherwise conservative and a decent, law-abiding citizen.

No. It wasn't directed at you. It was directed at the right wing hate-filled equivalent of the MSM. See the context.
He didn't give those who despise him a soundbite, and that was their goal.
He spoke about Mary personally, and about her family. That was it.
He avoided the trap and said nothing wrong from either side of the discussion...........unless you were twisting it to mean something that it didn't actually mean....

I actually thought about that.
The pressures will be as great on him in Crawford as they are in Washington. He never gets a 'vacation.'
But fortunately, he has an outlet there to release some of the stress on him in D.C., and an environment he loves.
I am praying that he has as restful a Christmas as is possible for a consciencious leader such as he....
