Although I'm not Italian, supper on Christmas Eve is the traditional Italian treat of sardines and stuffed calamari, pasta with clam sauce and a crusty loaf of bread. Simple but it's just so good and something I look forward to all year.
(Over here, I have to substitute opelu for the fresh sardines.)
