Photos found with deceased climber Kelly James have raised worries about how long his two colleagues can survive on the brutal summit of Mount Hood, an official said on Tuesday.
"We've got some pictures. Kelly James had taken some pictures of his climb," said Hood River County Sheriff Joe Wampler.
"So we know pretty much what they had with them," he said. After examining the photos, Wampler said, "looking what they had with them, I'm pretty concerned about how long somebody can last out there."

Let's just be adults. They're dead.
If they could have made 300 yards per day toward safety they'd be home now.
I am very sorry for them and their families. It's tragic and I hope they recover their bodies soon. But they were out of food and water a long time ago. They're not coming down or even holed up in a snow cave during the good weather.
It's no longer a rescue. It's a recovery. And the sense of urgency has passed.
It may be brutal, it may be harsh, but if it's true, you can say it.
