Paula Zahn devoted two of her hour-long CNN shows this week to the topic Skin Deep: Racism in America.
The question I walked away with was: What was the point?
The shows told us little that most of us dont already know - strong racist sentiments exist in the country - and really never asked the deeper and more important questions about what this means and why we should care.
According to Zahn, the production was provoked by Michael Richards now-famous rant at a comedy club. Given the incident, CNN thought it was worth examining, How much racism is there in all of us, just under the surface, that were really not aware of or willing to admit?

Just the libs stirring up trouble and manufacturing more "news" -- the same tired old rhetorical crap from their play book.
Vee haff vays to make you belief... and ven vee get true vit you... you vill belief things you neffer thought possible!
They're bringing this up now because of Obama. The only possible explanation for opposition to him is racism.
You win the thread.
someone watched CNN for 2 hours straight????
Lord have mercy!
Good question. Does she still have that perpetual "I smell a dead rat" look?
Libs don't want racism to end. They want to keep stirring up trouble. The libs assert that unless racism is ended, certain ethnic groups can't succeed. For one thing ending racism is an impossibility. Why? Because all humans have a streak of racism in them. For another thing it ignores all other factors in detailing the lack of success of certain groups. At one time there was strong hatred directed at just about every non white protestant group, religious or ethnic. Those days are over. Official racism ended decades ago and most Americans don't care or aren't in the position to discriminate against those who don't appear to be like them. Libs should be happy, but racism is the Moby Dick of lib causes. They will perpetually keep searching for it.

She looks like she just saw me naked. ;-p
The best gauge of a groups racism is, I think, interracial rape.
If we could compare the numbers today, with say 1970, it would tell us which race is racist, and needs to be focused on.
If this was shallow you should have seen their take on Christianity this past weekend. Look like something Keith Olbermann would have produced.
Nice, no mace involved this time. :)
There's more racism by CNN reporters than in the general public.
I hate that cracker. Oops... I guess she's right :)
They didn't figure out the first time that no one found their "report" worth their time? They had to go and air another one?
You watch CNN and you get what you deserve. The author of the article should bear this in mind in the future. I guess if you are dumb enough to watch CNN, you are dumb enough to write about it in the paper and let the whole world know about your intelletual failings.
