Thanks as always Rus for posting Military Monday. God Bless Our Military Men and Women
An aside, celebrated our family Christmas Saturday here... 20 relatives. Brother and nephew got dad "engaged" about WWII. Dad was severely injured in his first deployment but he never would talk about it. Spent close to a year in rehab in Hawaii for hip/leg injury. Now...with his Alzheimer's he more or less lives in the past and willingly talks about it without horror or pain. He was in the first (red) wave of the invasion of Saipan...most of his platoon were killed just reaching the beach(they were totally unprepared and were anbushed) and dad actually was left for dead. As I said, he would never talk about this...it was a demon nightmare for him so it was so amazing for him to share. My brother was in tears and my nephew was so intrigued given what our current military are going through. It was a very special moment for our family. It makes me even more proud of our service men and women.
