Jonah Goldberg has a nice, and I think correct, comment about Newt and his appearance today:
"Gingrich On Meet The Press [Jonah Goldberg]
I'm a critic of what appears to be his burgeoning front-porch strategy for the White House and I'm skeptical about his chances generally, but he really is the best conservative talker in America right now. He simply has no peer, save for Bill Clinton, in the ability to extemporaneously explain an idea or beat one back and sound perfectly reasonable in the process."

I'm trying to think of someone but hear only crickets chirping........Fred Thompson, former TN senator comes to mind, but I think it was his way and tone of speaking that made you think he could not be wrong, and he usually wasn't.

I have to agree with Goldberg about him having no peer, however he is not Presidential and has too much baggage and was seduced by Clinton (Figuratively), and can be quite petulant. He would make a great adviser and/or Cabinet Member, not VP or President. He is too much a pander bear at time with the Rats just to get attention.
