Pope Benedict XVI has my heart. He's magnificent and so is his mind.

Didn't the Orthodox break off earlier, refusing to hew to the authority of the Pope? I listened to an Anglican cleric give a sermon in the Knights Templar church (for the choir which was magnificent, not the sermon) that got some play in the DeVinci Code novel and movie, in the law precincts of London, across the street for the Royal Court. He characterized the Anglicans as the Catholic Church, the "reformed" Catholic Church, as he put it. That gave me a belly laugh. The Church was "reformed" to allow King Henry VIII to divorce his barren wife. That is hardly the most aesthetic of pedigrees I thought to myself. And so it goes.
I enjoy internecine religious chat as a "neutral" bystander. It interest me. It is part of the human condition.

Romney's NRA rating is a "B" and Kayne Robinson is not opposed to having him to work with as POTUS. Don't worry, Romney won't push legislation to take away our guns.

Ive opposed same-sex marriage, but Ive also opposed unjust discrimination against anyone, for racial or religious reasons, or for sexual preference. Just like I've said repeatedly and been attacked for saying, Mitt Romney is pro-gay rights except for marriage.
Also, despite wanting to be called pro-life these days, Mitt STILL DOES NOT SUPPORT MAKING ABORTION ILLEGAL!!! After all this time he still insists on parsing words and trying to play both sides.
The guy is a sleazeball -- you can't trust him on anything.

Yeah, but Martin Luther's was the biggest break from the Church.
I only brought up this subject due to the sanctimony on another thread last night, wherein one particular poster droned nauseatingly on about Mormons being a cult. The first Christians were also called a cult. I get so tired of the holier than Thou arguments regarding religion. Promote their own, but don't trash others, save for Islam. :)

I don't buy Romney's epiphany. He is pandering for GOP conservative primary votes. The truth is, is that he tacks as the political terrain changes. On social issues, I don't think he cares much either way. He is a mirror. I think less of him than I did. He should have been more honest. This is Mitt's problem, he keeps windsurfing around looking for votes but the Torie wing AND the JohnnyZ wing can see he's just a puff of hot air.

That thread was nauseating. The perps seemed intent on giving Evangelicals a bad odor.

It is so simple to just be honest. Few politicians seem to get it. Voters respect just being straight forward. That is why McCain for all his flaws, has traction. What you see, is what you get.

I too prefer Pence and will work toward him: I can't say if I would actually vote for MA Romney or not.. (I still don't trust him..too many flip-flops, just stating the facts..)!

Even after the one poster's "source" was outed as a fraud. I gave up. Talking to the galactic ally stupid is a waste of time.

Right, so Mitt wouldn't push legislation to take away our guns, he'd just sign legislation to take away our gun. Thanks for putting our minds at ease, shill.
To: CWOJackson
How will you work for Pence in the primary since he's not running?

I can understand and appreciate the concern, but I also balance it with other factors. For instance, the Democrats have already announced an investigation into a time table for withdrawing from Iraq.
Odds are they wouldn't be doing that if conservative voters had anted up and played with the cards dealt them in the last election. That leaves me in the position of having to work very hard for Pence, and voting for Romney if he does win the nomination.
