[history]
YOU were named TIME magazine 'Person of the Year' Saturday for the explosive growth and influence of user-generated Internet content such as 'blogs', video-file sharing site YouTube and social network MySpace... You -- YES, YOU -- beat out candidates including Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, China's President Hu Jintao, North Korean leader Kim Jong-il and Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi... YOU, YOU, YOU....

Free Republic should have its own person or persons of the year. What is Time anyway but liberal trash.
For the Good: My nomination is for John Bolton telling the UN that it is full of crap monkeys.
For the Bad: Kofi Annan for being an Anti Semitic piece of garbage, that sold out Africa, his son for money, and Israel for the love of Muslims.
For the Ugly: Pelosi for being a bitch.

Did Time really name Gorbachev Man of the Decade of the 1980s? He didn't became the leader of the Soviet Union until 1985.
Ronald Reagan was the Man of the Decade of the 1980s. If Time felt it should name multiple people, the most influential people of the decade of the 1980s were Reagan, Pope John Paul II, Lech Walesa, and Maggie Thatcher. Gorbachev falls into "1980s Tier 2", with Mulroney, Kohl, Mitterrand, and others.

I'll have to have my people accept this major award on my behalf. I don't really want an award that would have me as a recipient.

He was not only Man of the Year,

But Man of the Decade.

I think it is safe to say who the publishers of Time worship.
To: Graymatter

Considering some of the people that have been given this award, well, I wouldn't go bragging about it.
