Vice President Dick Cheney's pregnant lesbian daughter Mary will make a "fine mom," President Bush said, sidestepping his past comment that a child ideally would be raised by a mother and father.

Other than a few folks on FR, I doubt this will have any significance on the GOP at all.
I actually agree with what you're saying. But I'm torn, because now Mary Cheney is going to be held up as an example of how acceptable this should be. So here we are.
LOL
Thanks for the tip. I'm sure it will vanish by the time this post appears.
Nobody said anything about lesbianism. The complaint is against "lesbo parenting".
"Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee." Exodus 20:12
As President Bush says-every life is sacred.
An innocent child is going to be born-the baby is not going to be aborted or used for stem cell research.
While I believe that children need both a father and mother , this child will probably have a better life than those poor kids who have Britney Spears and that Fedex thing as a father.
The Cheneys will be the grandparents, more positive influences for the child.
I don't see this as a defining moment for the Republicans-it's a unique and discrete situation for the Cheney family.
Now that the baby is on the way, President Bush was kind and wished everyone well.
I cannot imagine doing anything different.
One can not wish the absolute best for one without a father.
I would not wish one "the best" in some feel-good, relative sense... that is gay.
This is amazing. I just saw that printed on a Hallmark card the other day.
Romans 1 seems pretty clear. God turns them over to a reprobate mind to do those things which are not convenient.

Reprobate:
1. a depraved, unprincipled, or wicked person: a drunken reprobate.
2. a person rejected by God and beyond hope of salvation.
adjective
3. morally depraved; unprincipled; bad.
4. rejected by God and beyond hope of salvation.
verb (used with object)
5. to disapprove, condemn, or censure
. 6. (of God) to reject (a person), as for sin; exclude from the number of the elect or from salvation.
I've been taught to love the sinner, hate the sin. The problem here is what is being defined as sin.
Here's a second opinion on whether homosexuality is a sin according to the new thought. check this:

Apparently there are no moral absolutes, according to some. If you re-define what God's love is, I suppose one could also re-define what marriage is.
Some treat the Bible as some treat the Constitution, re-defining the content to fit the changing times and propensities of a few.
LOL!!!
Romans 1:
God's Wrath Against Mankind
18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualitieshis eternal power and divine naturehave been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creatorwho is forever praised. Amen.
26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Exactly. You are the only other person here who seems to understand that Cheney screwed a lot of social conservatives by making this an issue by accepting the VP position.
This line is for average people, you get twelve stones for a dollar. Each stone is guaranteed to weight at least 12 ounces and will raise a pretty good welt on a heathen lesbian pervert sinner.
This line is the Premium Club. Only eight stones per dollar but each stone weighs at least 16 ounces and has no less then five sharp edges per stone. It won't end the amusement too quickly but it will shed some blood.
Now, this line is our for our Gold Card members; those without sins. Our Gold Card members have unlimited access to "Boulders or Righteousness". These are fairly heavy so they really can't be used until the heathen lesbian pervert slut sinners have been slowed down by the other throwers first. This insures a good spectacle while reserving the Coup De Ville for you.
So, which of these three plans interests you most?
How modest of you to tell someone else that they are stupid. If the President hadn't picked a running mate with a gay daughter, he wouldn't have had to make a gracious comment about something many of his supporters feel is wrong. Thinking that the President should have made a different choice is not being stupid; that's being honest. But I forget, anyone who doesn't agree with you is stupid. It's easier to call a person names than it is to make a serious response to a post.
You can dance around the question all you want but a child needs a father and a mother.
Perhaps he never tried to pry into the private life of a candidate's child...a citizen who isn't running for office and who is entitled to privacy.
It's no wonder people think they are religious fanatics...because they are.
