Rubbish robber gets fingered(try robbing store with finger)

Making a late, but impressive, bid for the title of 2006's stupidest criminal is the man who tried to commit an armed robbery in Des Moines on Thursday. The one flaw in his otherwise perfect armed robbery plan was that he wasn't armed.
Instead, he'd gone for the time-honoured method of sticking his hand in his coat pocket, pointing his fingers, and claiming it was a gun.
Unfortunately, his gun-impersonating skills left something to be desired. Terry Cook, the store clerk he was trying to rob, commented: 'I knew it was his finger. I could see his thumb sticking out of his coat pocket.'

Maybe he threatened the clerk with "Smell my finger". Under certain circumstances - which I won't elaborate on and leave to your imagination - it can be a deadly device.

That is the same mentality which led to one of the places flying into the WTC without a finger being lifted to stop it. At least the folks on the other planes tried to do something.

Reminds me of the fellow who attemped to rob a store and declared while pointing a finger gun at the clerk "this is a **ck up!"
The Clerk responded "you mean a stick up?"
"No" replied the perp "Its a **ck up, I forgot my gun!"
