Obvious question: Why wasn't the World doomed by the heatwave of 1649? It was. Everbody and everything died. It's in the history books.

Well, by 1659 there was the Pilgrims in Massachusetts and the settlers in Jamestown, so it must have been America's fault - all them campfires.

Obvious question: Why wasn't the World doomed by the heatwave of 1649? I'm sure it was. The spiritual brothers of these idiots would have been living then.

The hunt for "global warming" grants from Western treasuries continues to get more desperate, I see.

Central England sweltered in temperatures that are likely to make this year the hottest since records began in 1659, according to a report published by meteorologists. Aren't meterologists the jokers who predict the weather and are usually wrong most of the time?

Well, to say we are doomed by this year's high temperatures requires that two things be shown: that a) the temperatures globally in fact are the higher than ever, and b) that this implies something bad. Well, this article makes a lame attempt at the first requirement but then notes that it actually was hotter almost ten years ago. And the article doesn't even attempt to say anything about requirement b. So, this article is hooey.
Incidentally, I was in England during the heat wave of 1976, and let me tell you, that was some hot summer. I'm sure there have been hot years before. It's just that now research grants depend on finding the absolute worst data that can be produced for isolated areas, and then extrapolating it into vapid nonsense. As this article does.

Because Dubya wasn't President then.

Folks can you all at least read the FIRST SENTENCE of the article before showing how poor your reading comprehension skills are? Please?
"Central England sweltered in temperatures that are likely to make this year the hottest since records began in 1659, according to a report published by meteorologists."
RECORDS BEGAN IN 1659. No where does it say that was a hot year, cold year or any type of year except the one that followed 1658. The writer doesn't even imply anything about the temperatures in that year. That is the year that record keeping started.
Sheesh.
Now I return you to your regularly scheduled dsiemboweling of the MSM... Have fun. ;)

Because it happened before algore was born? :-)
1659 -- the question the dumbed down libtards never seem to ask :
"And why was it that hot in 1659???" That was centuries before the industrial revolution that supposedly started the massive generation of CO2.
The alarmists always try to change the subject when this point comes up. They pretend climate cycles never happen naturally.

Obvious question: Why wasn't the World doomed by the heatwave of 1649?Perhaps it was, but nobody noticed.
That sounds kinda like a Steven Wright joke.

Time for me to buy that Corvette and go out with a bang - eh? Put the industry's-best tires on it, and you won't be going out with a bang! :^)
Come to think of it, could they have moved the thermometer into a sunny spot since 1659?
