They were Saudis and Egyptians. The reasons for that are simple. It's easier for the citizens of these countries (considered "friendly") to enter the US. They are also more likely to speak English and to know the ways of our society. For the same reasons in Farance and Spain the Muslims terrorists tend to be North Africans, in UK they are Paks, etc.
