BUMP
Dat muney wuz planted! I wuz dis-enfranchized!
The horror....
Yeah but since he did the deed vs a republican it's all good.
You're right, it was more "criminal" in nature. However, the point is still valid, in that Dems are quick to hollar for resignations when a Republican is involved, but that a "innocent until proven guilty" position when a Dem is involved. Actually, their position is even to the point of bestowing forgiveness, making excuses for, or completely ignoring actual instances of wrongdoing on the part of fellow Democrats (ie. Studds vs Foley).
It's incredible that he was even returned to Congress...I had hoped that his African-American La. contituents would do the same to him as Cynthia McKinney's did to her but I guess we just cannot get over the racial hump in this country yet. Sad!
I need a scorecard for the DEM scandals.
Let's see...
William Jefferson...bribery
Alcee Hastins...bribery
John Murtha...Abscam
Harry Reid...Land deals
Then the classics:
Ted Kennedy...murder, DWI, cover-up
Robert Byrd...KKK recruiter
Barney Frank...male prostitution ring
Hillary Clinton....Whitewater and stock insider trading (and murder?)
Don't forget what blacks did for Mayor Barry of D.C.
But, he is soooooo familiar with cold, hard cash.

Don't forget Mollohan of WV who is slated to chair the committee which funds the FBI while the FBI is investigating some of Mollohan's dealings.
That's so one-sided. If they really wanted to get rid of Jefferson, why did they run a loony lefty like Karen Carter who supports gay marriage and (apparently) human cloning. They have no-one to blame but themselves for this folly.
He obviously has the financial experience.
She's not getting anything back she doesn't deserve.
IOW, "When Democrats can control the corruption investigation next year and find him innocent of all charges, then he'll be put on to an influential committee"
Kudos to the Speaker for keeping him off Ways and Means.
He could be on a banking committee. Or how about the ethics committee?
I hear Robert Byrd got "woody" when he heard about this.
Is there a committee regulating freezers?
