Are you serious? Opposite pedal inputs?
Geez, the car makers had figured out by about 1920 that the controls on vehicles had to have some standardization. Why would the manufacturers of multi-million dollar helicopters not do the same?

I know the Souix/Lakota are pretty cool about lending their tribal name to various ventures. Still you have to wonder with all the College/Pro athletic teams being forced to drop their native-american mascot names, how far behind can the army be?
"Are you serious? Opposite pedal inputs?"
Yes. The main rotors on European helicopters turn in the opposite direction as the Americams so the anti-torque pedal inputs are opposite as well. It takes a while to get used to it.
Kinda like driving on the wrong side of the road as they do in the US Virgin Islands. It drives me crazy.
When I was at Ft. Riley, KS in the mid-90's we flew a couple of our OH-58's down to sell to the Arkansas PD.
bet it really gets your atttention in a power off autorotation under goggles...........full faced of course:)
Uh Huh. Payoffs from Clinton to the locals for their silence!
Yup. I saw a couple of OV-10s sold locally in SoAZ to some version of the cops. What worried me was that the military left the hard points in place.
OV-10 is a hellofa aircraft, I often wish that I could have gotten stick time on one vs the O-2
A Gentleman's club in South Philly...
so the army bought non american helicopters...
"Is there anything named for Crazy Horse?........."
A freakin' gigantic sculpture in the making!
Seeing how it's being done without guvmint $$$, we may not live to
see it completed.

Yeah I know about that one, but I meant military vehicles, like a jet or airplane or land craft.........
That could easily be fixed with simple mechanical modifications. I am truly shocked that this has not been standardized.
It takes a while to get used to it.
I'll bet.
