The disingenuous of this rabbi is nauseating, and for some reason a lot of the local talk show hosts are taking him at his word. He tried to bully the airport with the threat of litigation, and now he whines that this isn't what he wanted. What a jerk.
Saw him on O'Reilly, tonight. Mr. O was sooooo impressed! The good Rabbi made a mess and is now trying to weasle his way out of it. Playing the innocent act was silly.
I'm going to go to Israel and complain that I've been offended by the display of menorah and the star of David.
And who do they get support from? Yet they continue (American Jews) to vote in power people that hate them, there is no understanding these people, very exasperating.
I don't know; I read an article at Townhall (I think) where the columnist got a chance to interview the guy...it sounds to me like he made a mistake by threatening to sue, and admitted as much. Said he made the comment he was just trying to get leverage...almost like spitting it out in the heat of a moment, and once it was out, the lawyers all the way up freaked out.
Sadly even many here on FR are falling for it. Lawyering up is not asking?
He was on O'Reilly last night saying he
1. didn't demand the trees be taken down.
2. His group offered to provided the Menorah for the airport
3. and the issue was overblown by the media
It might have something to do with the fact that the organization he's associated with has between 6,000 and 11,000 Menorahs displayed, most of them in displays with Holiday Trees like Sea-Tac and in many cases Christmas Trees. His statements are consistant with his groups position, as well as his actions. That's why they believe him, he's credible. Not to everyone, I know, some people think the Rabbi is a jerk.
I saw him on Fox and he said that all he wanted was a menorrah - did not request that the trees be removed.
He said he would sue them to ALLOW his display, not to REMOVE the christmas trees.
I don't like that he threatened to sue them, but he isn't responsible for how they reacted to his threat, which was not about the trees.

You want disingenuous?
How about Christians who get bent out of whack any time that someone wants to take the "Christ" out of Christmas...
...unless it involves putting up a CHristmas Tree, in which case it suddenly morphs into a "Secular Holiday Tree" even though the tree isn't recognized as a religious holiday symbol by anyone except Christians?
Sounds like a bunch of whining hypocritical jerkyness to me.
