The resentment, if any, should be directed solely at this particular rabbi and at the capitulating Sea-Tec officials. Most American Jews don't give a whit about the abundance of Christmas displays (and lack of Hannukah displays) at airports or other public venues, so taking it out on the Jewish population as a whole is rather ludicrous.
Agreed, but I'm making the assertion that the public is fully capable of blaming this directly on the Jewish faith because of who made the complaint.
"so taking it out on the jewish population as a whole is rather ludicrous."
expressing one's opionion is not scapegoating.
I would agree with that, but it seems to me that Jewish groups jumped into the frey without being asked. I think they were just as ready as anyone else to recognize what this guy had done. It was a mistake and I'm sure he's rather sorry he opened his yap in the first place.
If I saw a Jewish holiday display it wouldn't dawn on me to complain. I'd think it was nice and move on. Frankly, that's all I ask when other groups run across a Christian display.
