NEW CASTLE (AP) - State police have discovered a gun that had been dumped in a lake near the scene of a roadside shooting that killed a neighbor of Bill and Hillary Clinton and wounded the woman's husband.
Westchester County police have conducted ballistics tests on the weapon, Deputy Police Safety Commissioner Monty Long said.
Long wouldn't say what the tests revealed and referred questions to the New Castle Police Department. A message left Saturday with the detective investigating the Nov. 18 shooting of Carlos and Peggy Perez-Olivo wasn't immediately returned.
Police divers found the gun near the spot where Carlos Perez-Olivo, 58, said a gunman ran his car off the road as he and his wife were returning from a night in Manhattan. The couple lives in Chappaqua, three doors down from the Clintons.
Carlos Perez-Olivo said the gunman forced his way into their car, shot him in the abdomen and shot his wife in the head. Peggy Perez-Olivo, 55, died two days after the shooting.
Police have not publicly identified a suspect. A detective publicly called Carlos Perez-Olivo's story of a roadside ambush "unusual sounding."
An attorney by profession, Perez-Olivo was disbarred three months ago for refusing to return unearned funds to clients.
Looks like another ARKANCIDE
Why would you post that nonsense?
This is further indication that the killer was the husband. Someone else would have taken the gun further away to dispose of it. He didn't have time to do that.
I agree, but it sure took long enough to find the gun. 3-4 weeks? And it was found in the same area as where the man said the shooting happened.
Wonder what kind of gun it was. Some guns would float vs. sink, you would think.
It's the converse of what the Liberals get -- BushDidIt Syndrome.
The gun was in the lake. 3-4 weeks is perfectly understandable.
Who knows? This may be the first body adjacent to clinton that he had absolutely nothing to do with, including dogs and cats and railroad tracks.
After all, sooner or later, it had to happen. A death for which clinton was NOT responsible! Finally moving on.
That's what they got for not having a HILLARY! sign in their yard.
Float?
My hunch is the husband did it.
Jeez, how difficult is it to hide a gun someplace where it will never be found? Thankfully for decent people, criminals are typically very dumb and extremely nervous.

May turn out to be a gun from an earlier shooting. Hmm....someone may have dropped it in the lake on their way home? Hmm...If it is, I wonder who would have done that? Hmmm...
No sense of humor...I like to kick the clintons whether they deserve it or not.
Yep, that and the "files".
Very small guns...
The Law of Diminishing Returns apply here. As well as "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" syndrome.
We need to conserve our ammunition for appropriate use only.
....ah! (Sigh.)
Thanks.
I imagine this will soon be a "ripped from the headlines" CSI:NY?
