Who knows what the truth is, but I've learned not to trust many news reports at first glance.

Of course. But where did this originate? News reports. Doh! Just because it is a news organization does not automatically make it evil or wrong. If they hadn't disseminated details of this incident, we probably would not know anything about it.

MSM news reports should not be trusted at first glance as a general rule. They will generally report stories if and only if the story furthers their left-wing agenda, and kill those that do not.

In this case, we would probably all be better off if the details of the incident were not disseminated in a typical MSM feeding frenzy. It would have been more prudent to report the story only if an actual suit had been filed.

Using that logic, if Walter Cronkite hadn't disseminated reports about how the Tet offensive was a military disaster for the US, and intoned "We have lost", we probably wouldn't have known anything about it.

Journalism is a sloppily-practiced profession today. We've reached the point where today we have to view news professionals like we view politicians and lawyers - with a jaundiced eye.

Sad, but true...
