Please show me where the rabbi demanded to "tear the Christmas trees down."
He made no such ultimatum. The airport management came up with the idea to take the trees down.
From the article, second paragraph:
A rabbi wanted to install an eight-foot menorah and have a public lighting ceremony. He threatened to sue if the menorah wasnt put up and gave a two day deadline to remove the trees.
While it doesn't really say *tear* the trees down, I read it the same way about them being removed.
"He made no such ultimatum. The airport management came up with the idea to take the trees down."
He sure did. You need to get your facts straight.
Actually, were I the airport admin, I'd remove the trees. The airport had no other choice, because they were being asked to host a public religious ceremony. Only I'd do it at high noon after several phone calls to media.
He made no such ultimatum.
He threatened to sue. That threat brought the trees down.
I'd say threatening to sue was an extortion attempt to demand an action from the airport that it hadn't considered and which would have given blessing to a religious ceremony which the airport had never done. What in the world did this jerk think would happen?
